You Only Pay When We Win
On the evening of May 17, 2025, a catastrophic incident unfolded on New York City's East River when the Mexican Navy training vessel, Cuauhtémoc, collided with the Brooklyn Bridge. The ship, carrying 277 individuals, was departing from the South Street Seaport en route to Iceland as part of a ceremonial voyage. Shortly after departure, the vessel lost power and drifted uncontrollably, leading to a collision that snapped all three of its masts.
The accident resulted in the tragic deaths of two young cadets, América Yamilet Sánchez, 20, and Adal Jair Maldonado Marcos, 23. Additionally, at least 22 crew members sustained injuries, with several reported in critical condition. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has initiated an investigation into the incident, focusing on potential mechanical failures and the role of the assisting tugboat.
