Army Captain Receives Settlement from National Trucking Company After Major Highway Accident

Temple, TX - VB Attorneys recently obtained a significant settlement on behalf of clients Mr. and Mrs. McClendon after the couple was injured when their vehicle was struck by an 18-wheeler.

The Accident

The McClendons' ordeal began in April of 2021, when their vehicle was struck by an 18-wheeler. The collision caused their car to spin out into the median and nearly pushed them off of the freeway entirely. The truck driver initially claimed the accident occurred due to a sudden sneeze. But, crucial evidence inside the cab, an audio recording, revealed that the accident happened because of negligence, not just a sneeze.

Injuries and Recovery

The accident left Mr. McClendonwith a serious knee injury that required surgery, altering the course of his life. He decided to voluntarily leave the military, feeling that he could no longer keep up with the demands of his service. Meanwhile, Mrs. McClendon experienced physical discomfort and faced the emotional trauma of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
