Fort Worth hotel explosion injures 21, 4 in critical condition

On January 8th, 2024, an explosion occurred at the Sandman Hotel in downtown Fort Worth, resulting in injuries to nearly two dozen people. The explosion, believed to be a gas explosion, took place around 3:30 p.m., causing significant damage to the building. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, with 21 individuals sustaining injuries. A bystander reported, "It appeared to me that there was an explosion underground, like the cellar area. The sidewalk was blown out. Big chunks of sidewalk in the street.”

One person is in critical condition, four are in serious but not life-threatening condition, and the rest suffered minor injuries. The majority of those injured were in the hotel at the time of the explosion.
