A tractor-trailer crossed the pickup’s path
Roel was a tire repairman driving north on U.S. 281 in Hidalgo County when an 18-wheeler attempted to enter a gas station. It crossed his lane without yielding, and his pickup collided with the trailer.
Serious injuries to his arm and head
Roel suffered a crush injury to his upper left arm and fractures in his forearm. He also sustained head injuries, including a concussion, and internal bleeding.
