An emergency-room bill became a disputed injury claim
Lee initially asked the trucking company’s insurer to pay his emergency-room bill. The insurer denied his claim. His case later proceeded in Montgomery County, Texas.
Vehicle damage and physical injury were different questions
The defense argued that the Corvette’s limited damage meant Lee could not have suffered the injuries he described. His wrist and elbow injuries eventually required surgery.
Vuk pursued Lee’s claim with medical and biomechanics evidence addressing that defense. The case required examining Lee’s injuries and the forces involved in the collision, rather than treating the appearance of the car as the entire answer.
A settlement at mediation
Lee’s case settled at mediation. The settlement amount remains confidential.
