Injury cases in Bryan and College Station
A brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, or severe burn can change the care a person needs and the work that person can do. Understanding those consequences takes medical evidence and a careful account of daily life. A claim should address the help the person will need after the immediate treatment ends.
We handle personal injury cases. Depending on what happened, that may include:
- 18-wheeler and commercial truck crashes, including collisions that cause a brain injury, paralysis, or death.
- Transportation accidents, including motorcycle, bus, and rideshare crashes.
- Industrial accidents, including explosions, fires, crane failures, and heavy equipment incidents.
Whether a collision occurs on State Highway 6, State Highway 21, or a neighborhood street, the investigation starts with the facts. We look at how the injury happened, who controlled the activity or equipment, and what records can establish responsibility. For work injuries, we also examine which people or companies may have legal responsibility beyond the immediate employer.
Wrongful death claims for Brazos Valley families
After a death, a family may need answers about what happened while also dealing with funeral arrangements and the loss of income or care. We handle deaths caused by negligence, including fatal vehicle collisions and workplace incidents. Our wrongful death practice explains the investigation and the claims a family may have.
Texas law generally gives a wrongful death claim to the person’s surviving spouse, children, and parents. A separate survival claim preserves the injured person’s own claim after death. The people entitled to benefit and the losses involved differ between the claims. See who can file a Texas wrongful death claim and how a survival claim differs.
If a truck was involved, the family’s questions may include the driver’s conduct, the carrier’s records, vehicle maintenance, and any other company whose actions contributed to the crash. Our fatal truck accident page explains those issues in more detail.
Brian Beckcom’s connection to Texas A&M
Brian studied computer science and philosophy at Texas A&M, spent four years in the Corps of Cadets, served in the Ross Volunteers, and earned a varsity basketball letter. His connection to College Station is part of his own history and his family’s.
That background provides a personal connection for Aggie families considering the firm. The decision to hire a lawyer also calls for a close look at the lawyer’s work: who will handle the case, how the evidence will be examined, and how the family will be kept informed. We welcome those questions. You do not need a connection to Texas A&M to contact us.
Brian and founding partner Vuk Vujasinovic are Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. An experienced trial lawyer leads each case, with the support of a Board Certified partner. Clients can speak directly with their lawyer.
What preparation looks like in actual cases
In a Harris County truck crash case involving a young man with a brain injury, Brian and Vuk examined timestamped Facebook activity and other phone evidence concerning the driver’s distraction. That work illustrates why an investigation can require more than reading the initial crash report. Read about the distracted driving case.
In a separate wrongful death case involving a refinery rigger in Beaumont, Vuk served as lead counsel in Jefferson County and the jury returned a $44,370,000 Verdict.
Finding the records that explain what happened
A Bryan or College Station crash can leave records with several sources. A police crash report may be available through TxDOT’s crash report system. Photographs, dash camera video, and an officer’s field notes may require a separate request to the investigating agency. Bryan Police directs crash report requests to TxDOT and provides a separate records request process. College Station Police publishes its own report request instructions.
In a commercial vehicle case, other evidence may include onboard data, driving logs, dispatch communications, and maintenance records. Video can be overwritten, and vehicles can be repaired. Part of the early work is identifying relevant material and seeking its preservation. You do not need to gather every record before contacting us.
If you already have a report number, photographs, an insurance letter, or the names of witnesses, keep them. Save original messages and files. Tell us which agency investigated and whether a company or insurer has contacted you. Those details help us decide what to examine next.
Questions before you call
Does VB Attorneys have a Bryan or College Station office?
Our office is at 1220 Augusta Drive, Suite 240, Houston, Texas 77057. We serve clients across Texas, including the Bryan and College Station area. You can begin with a phone conversation. We can discuss meeting arrangements and the practical needs of the case.
Can I call about an injured Texas A&M student?
Yes. We evaluate injury and wrongful death matters involving students, parents, employees, and other members of the community. Tell us what happened and how the injury has affected the person. We will explain whether the matter fits the cases we handle. For parents facing a student’s injury or death, see our dedicated page for Texas A&M students, families, and former students.
How long do I have to bring a claim?
Texas generally provides two years for personal injury and wrongful death claims. The starting date and exceptions matter, and claims involving government entities can have earlier notice requirements. Have the specific dates and parties reviewed promptly rather than relying on a general deadline.
What does the first conversation cost?
The case review is free. We handle accepted injury and wrongful death cases on a contingency fee basis, with no attorney’s fee unless we obtain compensation for you. We explain the fee agreement and treatment of case expenses before you decide whether to hire us.
Should I wait for the investigation to finish?
You can call while an investigation is underway. An official report may be useful, but other evidence may need attention sooner. Bring what you have. We can discuss what remains unknown and what information would help evaluate the case.
