An injury aboard a drillship
Willie injured his wrist as he got out of a shower aboard a Transocean drillship. Immediately afterward, he could not move his right hand. A company doctor examined him.
The injury led to a synovectomy, a procedure in which a surgeon removes the membrane lining a joint. Willie later needed a permanent nerve stimulator in his wrist.
Treatment and the ability to work
Willie turned to Vuk while dealing with his injury and treatment. He worried about his recovery and how he would pay bills if the injury continued to prevent him from working.
Vuk pursued his Jones Act case against Transocean with help from Job Tennant.
A negotiated settlement
Vuk negotiated a confidential settlement for Willie and his family. The agreement resolved the Jones Act case arising from the drillship injury.
