The wrong valve

Ricardo had built his career driving commercial trucks. This injury happened while he worked at a rig, not during a highway collision. Another oilfield company’s service truck had pulled up beside him.

The other crew filled its truck with water for cleaning. When the workers tried to empty the truck, they opened the wrong valve. Water and debris shot toward Ricardo as he continued his work.

Emergency treatment and a search for legal help

Emergency-room doctors diagnosed a concussion and a neck sprain. Ricardo began treatment through workers’ compensation.

He first hired another law firm to help with his workers’ compensation issues. Thirteen months passed without the progress he wanted. Ricardo researched cases like his online and found VB Attorneys.

A claim against the other company

Ricardo spoke with Vuk Vujasinovic and hired VB Attorneys to pursue a third-party case against the oilfield services company whose crew had operated the truck.

The claim addressed another company’s conduct at the jobsite, rather than treating the injury solely as a dispute with Ricardo’s own employer.

A confidential settlement

The parties reached a confidential settlement at mediation.

Afterward, Ricardo described his decision to change law firms and his experience with the case. “I highly recommend them to anybody,” he said.
