For Patti Artavia, advocating for injured people and their families has never been just a job. It has been the focus of a legal career spanning nearly four decades.
Patti earned her Paralegal Certification in 1988 and joined VB Attorneys in 2008. Since then, she has become an essential part of the firm’s litigation team, helping guide complex Jones Act, maritime, and personal injury cases from the initial client interview through trial.
As Senior Paralegal, Patti coordinates every aspect of litigation, including discovery, depositions, expert witnesses, court filings, and critical deadlines in state and federal courts across the country. Her experience, judgment, and attention to detail make her a trusted resource for the firm’s attorneys and a steady, reassuring presence for clients during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.
In 2016, the American Association for Justice recognized Patti’s dedication and accomplishments by naming her Paralegal of the Year. Her approach to the work is straightforward:
No corporate bully is too big for me and my team to take on.
Patti is an active member of AIEG, AAJ, the Houston Paralegal Association, the Houston Metropolitan Paralegal Association, and the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division.
In her spare time, Patti enjoys yoga, reading, traveling to visit her children, and spending time with her husband.
