"My name is Travis Sheppard. I hired Vuk and Beckcom after sustaining an injury offshore. I was working on a workboat whenever a mooring line hit me on my side. It gave me two broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, and lumbar injuries. They did an explorational surgery to see if there was anything that was more damaged. Luckily, I was able to keep my spleen.
"While I was with Vuk, him, Linda, and Sean worked alongside me. They were very helpful. When I'd come in, they'd treat me like family. Vuk is a very good person to have on your side."
Travis was working for Top Coat as an apprentice pipefitter when he was hit by a mooring line on a Neches workboat. They'd been assigned offshore to repair a platform that was to be taken back to shore and then put back into production when the injury occurred. Because his job wasn't land-based, we pursued a Jones Act claim on behalf of Travis. We settled his case for a satisfactory amount. After he recovered, Travis applied to college and is completing his studies in industrial construction.
