An Uvalde family has hired VB Attorneys after a tragic 4th of July accident.
While at a fireworks show, the father and his five-month old daughter were seriously burned when a firecracker exploded upon them and their family van. The firecracker was shot by a private pyrotechnics company called "Fireworks Artistry." The father and his daughter were flown to San Antonio hospitals to be treated for their burn injuries.
Pyrotechnic companies that put on fireworks shows are required to follow certain industry safety rules contained in NFPA 1123. These pyrotechnic safety rules address issues such as:
- Crowd distance from the area where the fireworks are being shot;
- Proper firing of fireworks;
- Proper set up of the racks and other structures from which the fireworks are shot;
- Proper maintenance and storage of fireworks when they are not being used; and more.
The insurance company for Fireworks Artistry says it is "still investigating." It has been almost two months since the incident.
Vuk Vujasinovic is lead counsel on this case, which is pending in Uvalde County, Texas.
