Former University of Houston football star, Byron Alfred, joins VB Attorneys as our newest attorney.
We are pleased to announce his arrival.
Byron is a graduate of the University of Houston, with Bachelors of Science degrees in both Political Science and Economics. He got his law degree at South Texas College of Law, where he was active in mock trials and on the moot court team. He founded a student organization while in law school, called The South Texas College of Law Coogs, which is tailored to students who had obtained their undergraduate degrees at the University of Houston.
While in law school, he participated in, and obtained several awards for his work with, the school's nationally renowned Advocacy Program.
A native of Port Arthur Texas, Byron grew up in a refinery town, the son and grandson of union refinery workers. His knowledge of the risks facing refinery workers and companies' treatment of injured workers helped fuel his passion to help people who would otherwise find themselves helpless.
This excerpt from Byron's website bio reveals his transition from the gridiron to the courtroom:
"As exciting as playing before millions of fans was, it pales in comparison to the fulfillment of standing before twelve jurors, representing the interests of injured workers."
