Tires that are too big for the vehicle they are on can cause instability. The biggest culprits are SUVs. In recent years many manufacturers have installed larger tires on their SUV models in order to make them look more “rugged” and appeal to today’s consumers.
Unfortunately, unless the rest of the vehicle design is appropriately modified to handle larger tires, they can contribute to the vehicle becoming unstable and rolling over. Large tires increase the center of gravity for SUVs, many of which already have a high center of gravity which makes them prone to rolling over as it is.
If the manufacturer of your vehicle equipped it with oversized tires and you were subsequently involved in a rollover or other accident, the tires could be a contributing factor. A thorough investigation of all the facts in your case will help determine what happened.
