Our client’s car crash case has settled less than two months after the lawsuit against the other driver was filed. A negligent driver hit the legal assistant’s car on March 9, 2018. The driver turned left in front of her, causing a collision while our client was driving north on Tomball Parkway. Her car was totaled, she was transported to the hospital via ambulance, and she was diagnosed with multiple injuries.

State Farm pays policy limits to our client after she is injured in car crash

The injury to her wrist required surgery right away. She will need at least one more surgery on her wrist in the future because of this wreck. She hired our firm to help her hold the other driver accountable for his reckless actions. We filed a lawsuit against him in Harris County District Court on April 11, 2018. The lawsuit alleged he:

  • failed to maintain a proper lookout
  • failed to apply his brakes
  • failed to maintain proper control of his car
  • failed to obey traffic signals

In addition, the lawsuit alleged he operated his car in a reckless manner. On May 30, 2018, we sent a demand letter to his insurance company, State Farm. In this demand letter, we asked them to fairly compensate our client for her injuries by paying her the full amount of the insurance policy. We gave them until 12:00 p.m. on June 7, 2018 to accept our demand. Hours before the deadline, they agreed to our terms and will pay our client the full amount of the other driver’s insurance policy.
