A man fell to his death from the top story of a Dallas mall and onto the center of a skating rink located on the first floor of the shopping center. The man fell an estimated 50 feet and suffered fatal injuries. The accident took place on Tuesday afternoon, just before 2:30 p.m.

According to local news sources, 44-year-old Crisan Hindorean was visiting the Galleria mall located off of the Dallas Parkway with a few family members when witnesses say that he either fell or jumped from the railing on the fourth floor of the building. While no one using the skating rink was injured, many shoppers and skaters were traumatized by the scene. The ice skating rink was closed as authorities investigated the apparent fall accident but stores remained opened throughout the incident.

Hindorean was rushed to Medical City Hospital, but was pronounced dead by medical professionals not long after his arrival.

Further investigation has revealed that the man was with his girlfriend and her daughter at the mall, but that they were not near him at the time of the fall. Some sources close to the man have shared information suggesting that he was being medically treated for depression. Dallas Police will continue the investigation.
