Our law firm represents a passenger who was critically injured in the October 9, 2013 Greyhound bus crash that occurred on I-80 in Pennsylvania. We have filed the first lawsuit from this accident here in Texas, where Greyhound has its corporate headquarters and where our law firm is based.
Our lawyers have already performed a significant amount of work on this case. We have personally visited the crash scene in White Deer, Pennsylvania with a certified accident reconstruction expert, and conducted a thorough investigation at the scene. We are scheduling expert inspections of the Greyhound bus and tractor trailer, in coordination with the law firm representing Greyhound. As part of the vehicle inspection, our attorneys will be involved in the download of the data from the Data Event Recorders ("black boxes") in the bus and the commercial truck. All of this evidence will be pivotal to our client in proving that Greyhound was at fault for this crash.
We have opened communications with Greyhound's attorneys in terms of completing the work referenced above, and the substantial work that is yet to be completed. We are also coordinating with Greyhound legal counsel in making sure Greyhound continues to pay our client's hospital bills that continue to increase based on her admission at Geisinger Medical Center. Due to the severity of our client's injuries, she is one of the few victims still remaining at this hospital.
At our firm, we have handled many injury cases against Greyhound, mostly in Texas. This type of Greyhound litigation is often centered in Texas because Greyound is based here. Three of the attorneys (Vuk Vujasinovic, Brian Beckcom, and Curtis Bickers) are Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization placing all three among the top 2% of all the lawyers in Texas.
