A sophomore at Texas Tech University fell to his death from a parking garage on campus sometime on Saturday night or Sunday morning, authorities believe.
According to local news stations, 19-year-old Mason Vanstory of Dallas had spent the day with his parents during a family visit weekend and then tailgated at the school’s football game. A friend drove him home to his apartment, and no one else saw the young man until his body was discovered at the foot of the parking garage at half past five in the morning.
A Mass Communications/Criminology major and a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, Vanstory most likely fell off of one of the higher levels of the parking garage located at 2522 Marsha Sharp Freeway, though Lubbock Police and the man’s family are still looking for answers.
Police are concerned that two vehicles were found at the scene of the Texas fatal fall accident, though no one claims to have been with Vanstory at the garage. However, at this point officials do not want to draw any conclusions – the death could have been a homicide, a suicide, or a moment of carelessness. It is not known if the man had been drinking prior to his death.
Vanstory graduated from graduated from Dallas’ John Paul II High School two years ago.
The Houston injury attorneys at Vujasinovic & Beckcom send their sincere condolences to the friends and family of Mason Vanstory -- and hope that answers are found soon.
