A 2009 League City car accident is now at the center of a Texas personal injury lawsuit against one of the drivers.
According to local news sources, Hugo Trevino of Harris County was driving on the Gulf Freeway in October 2009 when he was rear-ended by Texas City resident Maria Guerrero. The Harris County personal injury lawsuit, which was filed in Galveston, states that Trevino was slowing with the flow of traffic when he was struck from behind by Guerrero. It also lists the owner of Guerrero's car, Silva Santana of Texas City, in the lawsuit.
Guerrero did not hold a valid driver's license at the time of the Texas car accident and was cited by police for both not having a license and for failing to control the speed of her car.
Trevino suffered two bulging disks, two herniated disks, and a lumbar sprain in the accident. Two years later, he still suffers from back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, leg pain, and discomfort that affect his daily life and his ability to work.
Trevino is seeking unspecified damages from Guerrero and Santana. The League City personal injury case will be heard by Judge Wayne Mallia and a Harris County jury.
