Around 6 pm on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, a toddler was hit by a car. The incident, which occurred at an apartment complex in the Bissonet and Rampart area of Houston, left the little girl iwith serious injuries.
The driver was backing out of a carport at an apartment complex on her way to work. It was almost dark at the time of the incident.
The child was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest, but her injuries required her to be flown to Texas Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.
The one year old girl was being watched by her aunt at the time.
It is being reported that the driver became hysterical when she realized she had hit the toddler, but Houston Police say there is no suspicion of her having been under the influence of any substances. The driver volunteered to be given a blood test.
Currently, no charges have been filed against the driver, as Houston Police are treating this as a car accident pending further investigation.
Our thoughts at Vujasinovic and Beckcom are with the girl and her family this morning. We pray for a full recovery.
