A male driver traveling westbound on FM 1960 crashed his vehicle into the rear of an 18-wheeler truck near Ramblewood Park in northeast Houston. The accident too place at approximately 2:30 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Investigators are trying to determine why the driver did not see the 18-wheeler truck.
The motor vehicle that collided into the 18-wheeler truck was so damaged that it had to be cut to remove the driver. The driver was transported by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition. No updates on this current condition have been posted.
Traffic on the northeast Houston highway was delayed for almost two hours while police investigated the motor vehicle crash and rescue efforts were conducted. FM 1960 was closed on both sides on Thursday morning.
