The parents of a young teen killed in a Texas traffic accident want to know more about how the crash took place. They are considering filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of the pickup truck.
According to local Texas new sources, 14-year-old Kristen Kirkland and 13-year-old My'kala Ross were killed in a Deweyville pickup truck accident on the night of Saturday, November 12, when the vehicle they were riding in ran off of the road and struck a tree. The driver of the car, 19-year-old Elizabeth Watkins, was babysitting the two young girls at the time of the crash; authorities believe that she may have been speeding when she lost control of the truck.
A fourth passenger, 18-year-old Joseph Constantin, was injured in the Texas crash.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the fatal wreck and said that charges could result from the findings. The families of the girls killed in the accident have also hired a private investigator to examine the evidence.
A benefit is being held to raise money for Ross’ funeral. Kirkland’s father wants others to take extra caution when driving with kids in the car.
At Vujasinovic & Beckcom, our hearts go out to the families of the two girls who lost their lives – and to everyone who cared for them.
