Wrongful death cases involve two different types of potential claims: "wrongful death" claims and "survival" claims. A wrongful death claim belongs to any surviving spouse, children and parents of the decedent. A survival claim is a claim on behalf of the estate of the decedent, based on the person's conscious pain and suffering (and potentially other claims) before their death.
At Vujasinovic & Beckcom, we have a track record of successfully handling death cases. For example, we were hired by the surviving spouse and four children of a gentleman who was killed when his car was hit by an 18 wheeler. We obtained a settlement in that case of $2,500,000. For a more extensive listing of our track record, which includes many other death cases, please consult our Case Results.
The damages aspect of wrongful death cases is unique and requires a skillful and experienced attorney to develop properly.
