On October 9, 2013, a Greyhound bus crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer on I-80 in central Pennsylvania. One passenger was killed and dozens more were injured in this crash. The bus was traveling from New York to Chicago.
One of the passengers who was critically injured has hired our law firm, VB Attorneys, to represent her in this matter. She has undergone several surgeries already, and remains hospitalized at Geisinger Medical Center.
Our lawyers have filed a lawsuit in Texas against Greyhound based on the crash on I-80, and we are already working on getting evidence to support our client's claims. We have retained an accident investigation expert to inspect the crash scene. This expert will photograph, videotape, and measure the accident scene, and document all the findings. This information will be pivotal for those seeking to hold Greyhound and any other responsible parties accountable for injuries passengers sustained in this crash.
In the lawsuit, we are serving subpoenas on governmental entities, seeking copies of the police department's investigation materials. These materials are critical, as they will reflect the officer's determinations of who is responsible for the crash, and may also contain statements of the Greyhound bus driver and other passengers.

Our law firm is based in Texas, which is where Greyhound's corporate offices are located. As a result, much of the litigation concerning the I-80 crash will take place here in Texas.
Our attorneys handle cases throughout the nation, and, in fact, throughout the world. We are the law firm that represents the crew of the Maersk Alabama ship that was hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia in 2009, which is the subject of the Captain Phillips movie starring Tom Hanks.
Our attorneys have handled many lawsuits against Greyhound. One of the recent Greyhound cases we handled involved a situation very similar to the I-80 crash, where the bus rear ended an 18-wheeler.
