Do you need a BOARD CERTIFIED personal injury lawyer to handle your 18 wheeler injury case? Houston 18 Wheeler Accident Attorney discusses the advantages.

The Texas Board of Legal Specialization ("TBLS") certifies attorneys in various areas of the law. One such area in which Texas lawyers can be certified is "Personal Injury Trial Law."

In order to become Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, an attorney must demonstrate that they are significantly involved and have a special competence in personal injury law, they must get positive references from other attorneys and judges, and they must pass a comprehensive written examination.

The TBLS maintains a website that tells you whether an attorney is Board Certified or not. Only 2% of all lawyers in Texas are Board Certified in personal injury law.

SO, DO YOU NEED A BOARD CERTIFIED INJURY LAWYER FOR YOUR 18 WHEELER CASE?

You are not required to hire a Board Certified lawyer for your case, but why wouldn't you? Board Certified lawyers have demonstrated to the State of Texas that they have a specialty in personal injury law. In a sense, the State Bar of Texas, which regulates Texas attorneys, has already screened these lawyers for you and deemed them to be specialists in personal injury law.

Why would you want an attorney who specializes in personal injury law for your 18 wheeler injury case? Cases involving 18 wheeler crashes and wrecks involving other large trucks and commercial vehicles are more difficult to handle than regular car accident cases. There is almost always much more money at stake in a case involving a commercial truck or vehicle. Also, wrecks involving large vehicles like 18 wheelers involve dynamics that are different from regular car crashes. Also, many commercial vehicles, such as 18 wheelers, must follow special trucking rules and regulations. For example, 18 wheeler companies that go across state lines have to follow the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

You want a lawyer who has a specialty handling the additional issues presented by 18 wheeler and other commercial vehicle accidents. Attorneys who are Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law will have that specialty and experience. At a minimum, talk to at least one Board Certified lawyer before you make your final decision.

All of the founding attorneys of Vujasinovic & Beckcom are Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. If you have questions about 18 wheeler accidents, contact us and our Board Certified Houston 18 Wheeler Accident Lawyers will help you.
