An “underride accident” is a type of accident that happens between a car or other passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer.  Sometimes when an 18 wheeler and a car crash, the smaller vehicle – the car, pickup truck, SUV, etc – will end up underneath the semi truck.  This kind of accident usually removes the roof from the smaller vehicle, when it is crushed or smashed off upon impact.
