Can I sue anyone other than just the driver of the car that hit me?

A: Depending on the situation, yes.  It is obvious to most accident victims that they can sue the driver of the car that hit them and ask that driver’s insurance company for compensation, but there could be other people on the hook.

If you were hit by the employee of a company who was out driving for work (so, they caused the crash while working), you could sue their employer.  Because the driver was working at the time of the crash, the company may bear some responsibility for what happened.
