Maribel was driving her Nissan Altima southbound in the right hand lane of S. Main in Pearland, Texas, when she struck the rear of a flatbad trailer being towed by SWJ Transportation.  The truck driver had parked the 18 wheeler in the right hand lane of the roadway and entered a store.  Maribel suffered very severe orthopedic injuries to her face, hips and legs.
