Corrected - Two ships collide in Gulf of Mexico

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that two ships collided in the Gulf of Mexico today.

The ships were the 820-foot tank ship Krymsk and the 166-foot offshore supply vessel AET Endeavor. The Krymsk began leaking oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

The Coast Guard is investigating.

Our comment: Not really any excuse for running two ships together. Hopefully these companies will be responsible for paying for any environmental damage or injuries that occured as a result of this maritime accident.
