Texas Residential Facility Sued After Special Needs Man Chokes To Death

A family is suing an assisted living facility in Spring, Texas, for wrongful death after they say that the facility did not properly care for a special needs resident.

According to local news sources, the Texas wrongful death lawsuit was filed by Norma and John Archer on behalf of the estate of Guy Archer. Guy, who was mentally disabled, was living at the United Bible Fellowship Ministries, which is owned by Julius and Madeline Glass. On the day of Guy’s death, the wrongful death lawsuit states that an employee of the assisted living facility, Leslie Norris, left the adult man alone while he ate – a violation of his care plan. Guy, who was known to eat his food in a fast and unsafe manner, choked to death on his food.

The Texas family is seeking an unspecified amount of compensation from both the staff member and the nursing home, plus the cost of court fees.
