Southwest Houston house fire causes third-degree burns

A man has suffered second and third degree burns after a house fire in southwest Houston.  The man, whose name has not been released to the press, was found outside the burning house.  He had to be taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The fire happened at the intersection of Ruppstock Drive and Ruppstock Court at about 10:20pm.  Fire crews responded to calls for help and found a one-story brick building in flames.  The Houston Fire Department was able to battle the fire and get it under control before it spread.

At this time the cause of the fire is not known, and the incident is still under investigation.  Authorities stated that there was no power connected to the house when it went up in flames.

There were several other deadly house fires in the Houston area that caused injuries.  Earlier this month a 59 year old woman in Kingwood was killed when a fire swept through her home; the cause of that fire is also still under investigation.  This woman was the sixth to be killed in a 48 hour period in early January, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Also killed were a disabled woman and her caregiver in a house fire in The Heights, and three women were killed in a Katy house fire.

Fire cases are difficult, and require a lawyer with experience in fire science. The attorneys at Vujasinovic & Beckcom have successfully handled many fire accident and burn injury cases.
