One young boy was killed and another child was injured earlier this month in a Pearland golf cart rollover accident. The siblings were both students in the Pearland Independent School District.

According to the Alvin Sun, 9-year-old Phillip Koterba and his 14-year-old sister were visiting an older brother who was house sitting in Manvel. The oldest sibling was not present when Koterba began driving the golf cart with his sister as a passenger. The golf cart accident took place when the boy drove the vehicle into a ditch where it overturned.

Both children were rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. While the sister was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Koterba suffered a traumatic brain injury in the crash and died the following day.
