Lauren Scruggs, model and creator of the online fashion magazine “Lolo,” is recovering from several surgeries at Parkland Hospital in Dallas after she walked into moving propellers from a small two seat aircraft at a private airport in McKinney, TX.
Scruggs was returning from a flight to watch Christmas lights with a friend when she accidentally walked into the propeller. She sliced the left side of her face which damaged her facial nerves, which control her smile, her brow, and opening and closing her eye. Her collarbone was broken, her skull was fractured, and her left hand was so damaged that doctors had to amputate it.
A roaring outcry of support has spread for Lauren’s family. The Scruggs family has said that they have faith she will make it through.
Meanwhile, an immense investigation is starting with why Scruggs was able to exit the plane when pilots are told not to allow passengers to exit while the propellers are still moving. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating and has said that Scruggs should never have been able to exit the plane.
Unless the pilot was keeping the plane idle while Scruggs was switching places with the passenger, there was no reason anyone should have exited.
Time will tell where the investigation goes. If you or anyone you know has been injured by an accident due to negligence, contact the lawyers at V&B for free information and a free evaluation. Toll free: 888-473-1258.
