Investigation into Continental plane crash continues - Will Continental be open and transparent about what happened?

Investigators are still trying to determine why a Continental Airlines flight skidded off a Denver runway last weekend.  According to reports, 38 people were injured.  Five are still hospitalized.

The accident happened at 6:18 p.m.  Continental flight 1404 bound for Houston was attempting to take off from Denver International Airport.  The plane had traveled about 1/3 of the way down the runway when it veered left and crashed into a ravine.  It then burst into flames.

Patrick Hynes, chief of the airport division of the Denver Fire Department, said that when rescue crews arrived "all chutes deployed from both sides of the aircraft, people evacuating and walking up the hillside towards them."

NTSB investigators told CNN that they had recovered the plane's data voice recorders.  The "black boxes" will be reviewed in Washington, D.C.  NTSB will also interview crew members, review crew training, and analyze both the wreckage of the plane and the weather conditions.

Right now, there are some indications that the brakes on the plane were defective or the engine thrusters fired at different levels, causing the plane to veer left.

We have heard that Continental is trying to keep the families and the injured from getting their own independent legal advice.  Hopefully, this will not lead to a cover-up or a failure to openly and honestly get to the bottom of what happened.
