Houston Personal Injury Attorney comments on latest Toyota recall figures

Toyota announced an additional 1.1 million vehicles to its recall list which already consisted of 4.2 million vehicles based on problems with the accelerator which causes unintended acceleration.  Many of these vehicles are actually the subject of two different recalls, both related to the gas pedal issue.

The scope of this problem is huge, but it may become even bigger.  It is unclear why Toyota issuing these recall notices in "waves."  It seems clear at this point that there will be additional recall announcements from Toyota.

There have been various injuries and deaths associated with Toyota vehicle crashes associated with unintended acceleration, across the United States.  Of course, Toyota sells vehicles in other countries and the scope of the problem in those countries is not yet clear.
