The Corpus Christi Monitor newspaper reports that the operators of an emergency medical services hospital helicopter have agreed to pay the families of a flight nurse and paramedic $14,000,000.00 to settle claims against the helicopter company.
The helicopter crashed near South Padre Island in bad weather conditions. Apparently, the pilot was not properly trained to operate the helicopter in such conditions.
