Government wants to know: Did Toyota delay its recalls?

Why does the U.S. Government want Toyota's recall documents?

Government regulators have demanded Toyota turn over documents related to the recent Floor Mat Entrapment Recall and Pedal Recall.  Why?  Because the government wants to know if Toyota dragged its feet in finally announcing these recalls. 

It will be very interesting to see if Toyota complies with the government's request.

It will be even more interesting to see what these recall documents show.  What did Toyota know, and when did it know it?  This information will be very relevant in the ongoing Toyota Recall Lawsuits.
