A construction worker who was involved in the building of Elevate Life Church’s Cathedral of Frisco was transported to the hospital this week after
suffering serious electrical burns while on the job. According to
Star Local News, an unidentified construction worker was on the second story of the building and near an electrical panel when the accident took place. The man suffered second- and third-degree burns in the worker accident and was
airlifted to the burn center at Parkland Hospital in Dallas for treatment. The man’s current condition is not known.
The fire chief who responded to the accident said that they checked the building for damage as well as other dangerous conditions. They found that the building was not damaged and that other workers were safe. An investigation into the accident will follow, as it is not yet clear what caused the burn accident or whether the man actually came into physical contact with the electric panel.
Construction workers are especially susceptible to electrical burns, as they often work near power lines or in buildings with exposed electrical wires. These burns can have extremely serious consequences and can require months of treatment, reconstructive surgery, and physical therapy.
