Four Injured When Driver Travels In Opposing Lane

On Friday, four people were injured when a vehicle driven by forty three year old Shaana Baise traveled in an opposing lane of traffic on U.S. 277, eight miles south of San Angelo in Tom Green County.
Enrique Vasquez was one of the drivers that had swerved in an attempt to miss her, but instead they collided head-on and proceeded to roll over, finally coming to a rest upside down.
Vasquez had two passengers with him at the time, a woman and a three-year-old boy. Both of them were sent to the hospital for minor injuries. Baise and Vasquez suffered devastating injuries as a result and are still in the hospital.
Meanwhile, an investigation is underway as to why Baise was driving in the opposite side of the lane. It is currently unknown if she was intoxicated or distracted, but Baise was issued a citation for driving on the wrong side of the road and not passing.
Experts have said when exposed to a driver that is driving in the opposite side of the road, it’s important to slow down and pull over to the side so to avoid any kind of impact. Swerving often leads to major panic for the other drivers on the road and can cause accidents.
