The
Dallas Cowboys practice facility collapsed this past Saturday while players, coaches, and the media were inside it. Twelve people were injured when the roof collapsed during a heavy thunderstorm that passed through the Dallas area. Scouting assistant Rich Behm was permanently paralyzed from the waist down due to a spine fracture. At least two other people suffered broken bones including fractured vertebra in the neck and a broken right leg.
The practice facility was constructed by
Summit Structures of Allentown, PA. The
Dallas Cowboys applied for a building permit to replace the roof on the practice facility last year, but allegedly never had Irving city officials inspect any of the completed work, which is required by Irving's building code.
OSHA is currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the roof collapse.
