In my blog
The Houston Accident Attorney, I recently discussed the recent accident in Houston, Texas where a Toyota Sienna minivan smashed through some safety cable barriers on the second floor of a parking garage and fell 20 feet to the ground on its roof, causing fatal injuries to the driver.
Investigations are pending, but no results are available at this time.
It is interesting to note that the day after this fatality,
Toyota issued a recall on this vehicle concerning its spare tire. It's unclear whether the defect involved in this particular recall had any role in the crash.
However, presumably investigators will investigate whether
Toyota's "unintended acceleration" problem that Toyota has admitted exists on millions of its vehicles played any role in this fatality crash. In fact, based on
Toyota's admitted delay in reporting safety hazards to the U.S. government, it would not be surprising if Toyota added this particular line of minivans to the sticky gas pedal national recall.
