An Academy TX School Bus Crashed In Temple And Sends 32 To Hospital

On Tuesday morning, an Academy school district bus, carrying thirty eight children from all grade levels, was making its first stop of three school locations when a tractor-trailer ran a red light and clipped the bus, flipping it onto its side and ejecting a nine-year-old boy through the escape hatch.

The bus driver was knocked unconscious and thirty two people were sent to the hospital, twenty nine of them being children. Three children were said to be in critical condition. The driver of the trailer, along with another adult were released from the hospital.

The bus driver seems to still be in critical condition. It is believed that all children were inspected for concussions, as well as the driver. Long term effects may ensue, especially among the little ones.

The truck that ran the red light is said to be a hardware truck.

The critically injured victims face a long road to recovery. Along with the physical damages, there is also extreme mental anguish that happens.

Counselors were said to be available the following day. Especially with small children, a horrific scene can stay with them for the rest of their lives.
