A chain-reaction accident involving an 18 wheeler is now responsible for 10 deaths. The accident occured in northeast Oklahoma. The 18 wheeler, driven by Donald Creed of Willard, Mo., slammed into cars that were stopped for an unrelated accident. Many of the victims were trapped in their cars for many hours as rescue workers attempted to free them from their cars.
Shelby Hayes of Frisco, Texas passed away early Sunday morning from head, internal and external injuries raising the death toll to 10. At this time, the families of those died in the accident are struggling with how the accident happened.
A preliminary report from the
Oklahoma Highway Patrol has said that Mr. Creed was traveling at an unsafe speed considering the traffic conditions. It is not yet know if Mr. Creed will be cited for this tragic acccident. The
Oklahoma Highway Patrol had also stated that a routine criminal investigation is being conducted. Local prosecutors will decide if any charges against Mr. Creed are warranted after the
Oklahoma Highway Patrol has completed their investigation.
Hopefully the
Oklahoma Highway Patrol will determine how this horrible accident occured and provide justice for those families who lost their loved ones.
